Adelaide Victory def Virginia United 5 – 2

The ladies took the field as a team for the first time this season against Adelaide Victory.

In the first half we saw a scramble with several field changes getting the team settled and working as a cohesive group.

As the play settled, Gracie broke forward and scored, coming into the break 4-1.

Adelaide Victory was kept to one goal in the second half and we had Georgie push forward and score from a corner kick.

At the final siren score 5-2.

Both teams started the season with two convincing wins over Adelaide Dragons.

In the reserves, Michael Catanzariti had two goals before half time while Liam Hulme and Joe Azzuro managed a goal each.

Joe doubled his tally for the second consecutive game with a nice header from a corner and then Andre Neto came off the bench to bag a double!

The first team overcame a slow start to control their game against Adelaide Dragons.

There were a few golden chances missed before James Dimasi decided to let one rip with his opposite foot from outside the box to give Virginia a 1-0 lead at half time.

In the second half, James Pipins and Christos Cafcakis both scored well, while Paul Cafcakis scored from the spot.

James Pipins scored a tap in from a Lucas Cosmidis cutback while Jack Cafcakis put some gloss on the scoreline with a header.

Wins for both the first team and reserves means they have progressed to round two of the SAASL Challenge Cup.
