Double Take

Local author features again

A big shout out to local author, Helen Walton, of Lewiston  who has just announced her work “Lemon Snippets” will feature in a collection of stories set to be released by Australian publishing house, Gumnut Press, later this year.

Her story is just one of 15 included in the anthology “Sweet Delights” and comes off the back of an inclusion in the publisher’s “Paw Prints of Love” anthology released in 2020. Awesome work Helen, congratulations.

Movie night anyone?

If you’re looking for a free family night out, then don’t miss the outdoor cinemas being run by Adelaide Plains Council around the district this month. The Dublin Cricket Club will show PG-rated “The Secret Life of Pets 2” on Friday March 12 and a week later, on March 19 at the Two Wells Oval, the movie “Playing With Fire”, starring John Cena, will be shown. Each event will start roughly when it gets dark, around 8.15pm. So bring your beanbags and deckchairs, pack a rug, non-alcoholic drinks and snacks, and you’ll be set. (See story on page 7)

Making Dublin beautiful!

If you live in the Dublin area and are keen to help the township grow and develop for the future, then head along to the “Our Town Workshop” being held at the local cricket club on Wednesday March 24 from 5pm.

The workshop is a collaboration between Regional Development Australia Barossa Gawler Light Adelaide Plains (RDABGLAP), the Adelaide Plains Business Advisory Group and the Coalition of Coastal Communities, and will be facilitated by Maz McGann, who aims to help identify, plan and implement sustainable vibrancy for the township.
