Not even a cold, wet afternoon could keep these keen soccer fans from finally taking to the field.
Last month junior training at Virginia United Soccer Club kicked off, with wind and rain hampering training drills but not dampening enthusiasm.
After weeks of uncertainty due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the club’s youngest players held their first training session for 2020 on Wednesday May 20.
VUSC secretary and treasurer, Alana Bombardieri, said everyone was happy to get out on the field again despite the COVID-19 restrictions.
“All the children were excited to be back, most braving the wind and heavy rain for the chance to get on their boots and train again,” she said.
“We have adjusted our training to small groups of 10 or less with a staggered timetable.
“Our season is set to kick off on June 13th at home.”
The club still has limited U7 and U9 places for this season, contact the club through Facebook or email email@example.com
