Quiz night fun

In which town did Ned Kelly have his last stand?  What continent can the world’s largest desert be found on?

If you know the answers to these questions, you would have fared well at the quiz night held by The Two Wells Football & Netball Sporting Club on Saturday June 13.

One hundred and twenty people were in attendance, and teams of six collectively answered various rounds of questions, all vying for top spot on the leader board that was continuously updated throughout the evening.

The social committee ran a successful night that was enjoyed by all, and was appreciated for the professional way in which the quiz was run.

Age was no discrimination on the night with teams of young and old going head to head.

Robert and Jayne Polito, from the Willaston Football Club, volunteered their time and expertise to run the competition, from devising the questions, marking the answers, and tallying the results, delivering all this with a dose of good humour.

Laughter, conversation, and failed attempts at cheating wound up with a final round of identifying song lyrics, and saw the Abdilla team “Love Struck” take out first place.

For those who found their competitive streak that night, start practising your ‘poker face’ and keep July 3 free as the club is holding a Poker Night.
