It was the day a crocodile, a bettong, a parrot, a frog, a turtle, a goanna, a possum and more than one python came to town.
The menagerie of animals was all part of the school holiday fun organised by Two Wells Public Library, with wildlife demonstrators from Animals Anonymous sharing their knowledge and love of all creatures great and small to an excited and captivated audience on April 14.
Eager children were given the opportunity to pet, stroke and even hold a variety of mammals and reptiles, including Boo the Bettong, Rocky the parrot and all three of South Australia’s known pythons.
Wildlife demonstrators Adrian and Tamara Sherriff kept the session informative, fun and interactive and there were broad smiles all round – except for a few adults who weren’t too keen on the snakes!
The library has organised a number of interesting events for the July school holidays, including a magic performance and a puppetry workshop so stay tuned.
