South Australian rural medical romance novelist, Meredith Appleyard, with be guest speaker at the next author event in Two Wells later this month.
Meredith, who lives in the wine-growing Clare Valley region and recently had her first novel “The Country Practice” published, will visit the township on Tuesday May 19 from 1pm.
As a registered nurse and midwife, Meredith has worked in a wide range of country health practice settings, including the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
She has also worked as an agency nurse in London and as a volunteer in Vietnam. After her first manuscript was rejected, Meredith joined a writer’s group, attended workshops and successfully completed an Advanced Diploma of Arts in Professional Writing with the Adelaide College of the Arts.
And most importantly she kept writing!
When Meredith isn’t writing she is reading and helping organise her husband and her border collie Daisy.
“The Country Practice” is her first novel and will be available for purchase on the day.
