Young bookworms rewarded

• Another summer is behind us and for participants in the Two Wells Public Library’s Summer Reading Club, so is hundreds of books, thousands of pages and many tales!

• More than 30 local students registered to take part in the library’s popular holiday reading program, where each had to read at least 10 books throughout the summer school holidays.

• TWPL Customer and Library Services Coordinator, Anne Sawtell, said 22 children achieved this goal, and 34,576 children participated in last year’s national program reading 230,000 books.

• Anne was confident those numbers would be similar if not higher again, with this year’s theme of adventure capturing the imaginations of the young readers.

• On Tuesday February 17 District Council of Mallala mayor, Duncan Kennington, presented each Summer Reading Club participant with a special certificate and age-appropriate book.
