The State Clay Target Shooting Championships were held at Virginia last month, with local junior shooter, Jack Tapscott, being selected in the state junior team following the three-day event.
The Championships were held over three days from February 6-8 and Jack, from the Lower North Gun Club, qualified 2nd for the state junior team after a very competitive shoot-off – there being only one point between 2nd and 3rd position.
Jack shot an impressive 232/250 for the weekend across three events.
This will be his first time representing South Australia in a junior team.
Jack will be heading to the National Championships in Wagga Wagga NSW in late March where he will compete in the State shoulder-to-shoulder team event for SA against the rest of Australia.
While there, Jack will compete in other events over the course of a week where he hopes to equal or better his bronze medal achievement from last year.
Congratulations Jack and good luck.
