Fleur draws on rural inspiration for books

Popular Australian rural author Fleur McDonald will visit Two Wells this month.

Fleur will be guest speaker at the Two Wells Bowling Club on Wednesday March 25 where her current books “Emerald Springs” and “Crimson Dawn” will be available for purchase.

Fleur was born and bred in Orroroo, the daughter of a fuel distributor, and spent many of her early years riding in a truck with her dad.

Fleur has always been passionate about writing, but it wasn’t until she was a new mum that she decided to get serious about it.

She now lives on a large farm, outside Esperance, Western Australia with her husband, where prime lambs and cattle are bred and she snatches time for her writing in between helping on the farm.

Fleur is now the author of five best selling books all set around Australia’s rural industry including her latest “Emerald Spring” and “Crimson Dawn”.

Her writing is motivated by her strong desire to show city people that country people are much the same as them, but they just do different jobs.

These author events are very popular so get in quick and book your free ticket, which includes a delicious afternoon tea, by contacting the Two Wells Public Library during opening hours on 8520 2100 or emailing library@mallala.sa.gov.au as seats are strictly limited.
