Two Wells Melodrama Group will hold its third comedy night on Saturday, November 15, starting at 8pm at Two Wells Community Centre.
Melodrama Group members are currently rehearsing two one-Act comedies, Burnt Offering and Housekeeper Wanted, to provide the evening’s entertainment, with an interval between each play.
Burnt Offering, directed by Anne Arbon, is about man who wins a lottery after many unsuccessful years of buying tickets. Unfortunately, he passes away before the lottery is drawn and it is his wife who will benefit from his win. Or will she?
In Housekeeper Wanted (directed by Kay Boon) the main character is looking for someone to cook and clean his house after his wife has left him, but gets more than he expects and ends up with less than he hoped.
Admission is $15 per person, with bar facilities available at the Centre. Bring a basket supper to share during the interval.
To book, phone ticket secretary Kay Boon on 8520 2778 (leave a message) or email firstname.lastname@example.org
The Comedy Night is an “out of season” event for the Melodrama Group, providing members with an opportunity to perform in more traditional plays and extend their stage and directing experience.
Meanwhile, the script for next year’s melodrama is in the last stages of being finalised for the Group’s annual show on the last three weekends of May.
