Growing Playgroup moves to Primary School hall

Two Wells Playgroup will be moving  to a bigger location at the beginning of the next school term.

The playgroup have been running for almost 11 years at the Two Wells Community Children’s Centre (TWCCC), but due to an influx of kindy kids, they will be relocating to the Two Wells Primary School Hall.

Organiser, Carly Heaslip, said the group is disappointed to leave the TWCCC.

“It was a great opportunity for children in the community to become familiar with the centre before starting kindy or childcare,” she said.

“Having said that, the school has been so supportive in accommodating our playgroup and providing a great space so that our community can continue to have a successful group.”

Carly said the group will now be held in the new junior primary play area in the school hall.

“We are able to share toys and resources with the school as well as access other areas such as the children’s garden, playground, library and computer room,” she sayd.

“We will have activities such as messy play with playdoh, painting, gluing, colouring, sand/water play. Lots of great toys, including trains, blocks, dress ups, kitchen play, musical instruments, baby toys, puzzles and much more.”

Two Wells Primary School principal, Lynda Fitzpatrick-Brown, is looking forward to the playgroup being held in her school and said it will benefit everyone.

“The school also sees this as another opportunity to make links with families in the community, as well as an opportunity to further enhance existing transition from home, to preschool to school; connections to make transition a smoother process for all,” she said.

Come along to TWPS on each Tuesday of the school term from 9.30am until 11.15am; bring a piece of fruit to share for morning tea.

Ages 0-5 are invited and cost is $2.50 per week per family plus an annual membership to Playgroup SA, and new families are always welcome!
