By Two Wells Tennis Club Junior Co-ordinator, Marie Tapscott
Tennis season is upon us and Two Wells Tennis Club is heading in a new direction with exciting opportunities for children wanting to join a friendly, family-oriented and fun sport. This season, Two Wells has affiliated with Gawler Association to offer junior players a greater variety of competition, which is more suited to their age and ability, as well as benefits such as the ANZ Hot Shots program in association with Tennis Australia.
Teams will be finalised on Monday September 8 for the season program.
There are many levels of competitive and non-competitive teams available so if you have a child aged 4 – 17 years of age, of any ability, who would like to play in a team, please contact Marie immediately on 0419 838 929 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
School Holiday Tennis Fun Days
Next school holidays, Two Wells Tennis Club will be offering two Come & Try Tennis fun days on Wednesday October 1 & Wednesday October 8 from 2-4pm with junior coaching available for only a gold coin donation. Please come along and bring a friend or two or more!
Once again, we are privileged to have Grant Daniels from Nuriootpa as our club coach. He is accredited with Tennis Australia; has been coaching juniors for over 20 years; has been the regional development officer for 10 years; and is still playing at the highest level of tennis representing our state in country tennis. Grant will be running monthly coaching clinics starting on Wednesday October 22 for all ages and abilities. For more information, please contact Marie on 0419 838 929 or email email@example.com.
Hot Shots Program and Club Training
Two Wells will be offering the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Community Play Program to all children aged 4-12 years in Term 4 on a Wednesday afternoon for six weeks. Community Play is all about enjoying tennis with friends and being a good sport with the emphasis on fun, not coaching. ANZ Tennis Hot Shots is just for kids, with smaller courts, lighter racquets and low-compression balls that don’t bounce too high, making learning tennis fun and easy for primary school-aged children. This means that kids are able to start rallying and having fun right from their first lesson!
Regular team training will also be every Wednesday starting in Term 4.
