Just ‘horsing’ around

The Adelaide Plains Equestrian Club held a fun games day and show preparation session on Sunday July 27.

Around 15 riders took part in the day, with the event split into two parts.

The morning session was led by the club’s vice-president and experienced show-goer, Ellen Steyn, who demonstrated how to plait manes and tails and apply “horse make-up” in preparation for attending a show event.

Later, riders took part in a range of games including bending, sack race, can race and the Texas barrels.

The club’s next event is a casual trail ride through the Lewiston area on Sunday August 24.
