Report by FLAG co-ordinator Colleen Sheedy-Palethorpe

Families Learning And Growing (FLAG) ended the year on a high, winning the Best Float award at the Two Wells Christmas Street Parade.

The collaborative efforts to produce the ‘Christmas Noah’s Ark’ float (complete with live animals, dressed-up children – and some adults in ‘onesies’) demonstrated how resourceful and creative this group can be.

Special acknowledgement goes to Karen McColl and her family, and neighbours Laine and Pam, who organised the beautifully adorned horses, ducks, dogs and rabbits.

Thanks also to Tanya Wilson who once again implemented her artistic skills in transforming a trailer into an‘ark’, using art-work completed by the FLAG children during the term.

• In the last Echo, it was accidentally reported Tanya was a former member of FLAG. This certainly is not the case. Tanya is looking forward to co-leading more children and families through another year of activities and adventures in 2014.

• FLAG will start up again on the first Friday morning of Term 1 – with a fairy tale theme.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all the Echo readers from FLAG.
