THE 2013 Two Wells street parade is just a few short weeks away, with four new and exciting stallholders secured.
Planning for the town’s annual street parade has been well under way for the past few months and this year’s event on Friday, December 13, is sure to have something for everyone.
Attractions include a bouncing castle, merry-go-round, slot cars, as well as a great variety of stalls and food suppliers. The popular Tea Tree Gully Redbacks Concert Band is back with the City of Elizabeth Pipe Band also joining the parade.
Local businesses are invited to join in the fun by decorating their premises and there are a number of competitions on offer, including:
o 4 YEARS OLD AND UNDER – Christmas themed picture to colour. These are available at the Craft Shop.
o 5 – 8 YEARS OLD – 2 decorated Christmas biscuits on a plate.
o 9 – 11 YEARS OLD – Decorated Christmas cupcake on a plate.
o OPEN – Craft a handmade Christmas decoration in any medium
SENIORS – OVER 60 – An edible Christmas treat eg cake, biscuits, sweets etc.
All entries can be left at Two Wells Craft Shop and should be clearly labelled with a name and contact phone number prior to the street parade event.
On the day all entries must be brought to the Old Council Chambers for display by 4.30pm.
Prince and Princess
Parade organisers are once again seeking nominations for the 2013 parade prince and princess.
If you know of any community-minded young person between the age of 14 and 25 why not highlight their efforts and nominate them?
Do this as soon as possible to firstname.lastname@example.org or leave a nomination addressed to Bev Smith-Trim at the Two Wells Craft Shop.
Following the parade the Two Wells Bowling Club will be holding a “come and try” event during the evening and a Blue Light Disco will be held in the Community Centre from around 7.30pm.
It’s a fantastic night for family and friends.
