Virginia “Rams” Football and Netball Club prides itself on its fun, family-friendly atmosphere, and is inviting the wider community to experience it with a special fundraising dinner this weekend.
Featuring the one and only “Chunky Custard” VFNC vice-president, Julie Platt, says the Saturday, August 10 event, to be held at the Virginia Recreation Centre, is sure to be a terrific night and a great opportunity for people to learn more about the club and what it has to offer, and will also be a chance for people to meet some of its members.
“What we want to do is spend time talking to families about the club,” Julie said.
“Virginia is right on the metro outskirts, so when the kids go to high school they tend to play in the metro area with their friends.
“We want to field our U11, U14 and U17 teams to capacity each week, and have been relying on the generous support of the other clubs on game day.
“If we can’t field teams it’s going to impact on the club heavily, they are our next A and B grade players.”
Julie says the club welcomes new members with open arms, saying its philosophy is very much centered on the kids and the facilities are also great.
“We’re probably the only club that has an indoor, air-conditioned netball court,” she said.
“We invite people to come along, have a great night out and enjoy themselves.”
The dinner kicks off at 6.30pm until late, with $100 securing a three-course meal and drinks package.
Club presentations for that day’s play against Two Wells will be held at the dinner.
